The People Partner HR & Training

Managing people can be daunting, and not every business has access to either permanent support, or the specialist experience to deal with larger projects. With over 20 years’ experience in HR and Training in a wide range of industries and business sizes, I provide a pragmatic and personal service to help you get the most out of your people whether you are an SME or larger corporation.

HR Services
I provide both one off project and ongoing support for businesses who need that additional, external support. Whether it’s ensuring your policies and documentation are up to date, dealing with employee relations issues or designing HR processes such as appraisals, performance management or engagement programmes I can provide bespoke and appropriate solutions to your people problems.

Change Management
As your business grows, or you go through more difficult times, you may need to restructure, reduce your headcount, or transfer new employees into your business. Having the right support from the start will help you to get through the process more quickly, more easily and less expensively. With many years’ experience of dealing with redundancies, TUPE and M&A I can provide the support and advice you need to go through your change programme effectively and successfully.

Training
Most businesses have to deal with people related issues that slow them down and mean that they spend more time dealing with problems than solutions. Happily, they are usually issues that can be helped with the right training – to say nothing of the fact that investing in your workforce helps with their engagement and productivity too.
I specialise in providing training in HR processes such as disciplinary and absence management, helping manager to understand their responsibilities, and reduce the number of issues. Courses can be face to face or online and are tailored to suit all levels of need.

HR Services

Sometimes you know you need help, but don’t really know where to start. And let’s face it, you are busy enough without trying to keep up with changes in employment law and what that means for you. To take this off your plate, I provide:

HR Audit – I recommend this for any new client. It gives your business a compliance health check to make sure we’re only working on what’s needed.

Updating policies and procedures – I can make them fit for purpose, avoiding any immediate legal issues and ensuring they work for you and your business.

Ongoing practical advice on issues as they arise – Getting advice in early helps nip things in the bud, and limits the risk of going to tribunal, which the Chamber of Commerce estimates at an average of £8,500 per claim.

Change management – whether you are expanding, restructuring or making redundancies having the right support from the start makes the process much easier, quicker and avoids expensive mistakes.

Employee Relations advice – whether it’s disciplinary, grievance or poor performance, I can either offer advice or manage the process for you.

Developing Your Business – yes, HR does the good stuff too. Having a sensible set of processes around things like performance, appraisals and employee engagement helps you identify your people strengths, and where we need to focus next.

Training Services

I specialise in training managers to get to grips with people skills and offer a range of courses to suit all levels of need.
