A word from Paul Abbott

Before I launched my own brands, I enjoyed a fantastic career centred around events management and artistic direction in the creative sector and higher education. I managed a mixed-use venue for around ten years and I have experience of commercial conferencing, associations, live music, and festivals.

I was also responsible for employability and enterprise in a UK conservatoire, helping young artists to build their confidence and plan for the future. I hold a PhD in music, and I continue to compose and perform. My first book goes on sale in autumn 2023, and I also enjoy painting and food.

Coach

I am a trained coach with a background in senior leadership who managed to escape the endless rounds of business-lingo-bingo. No ‘leveraging’, ‘going forward’, or other such meaningless nonsense here.

I specialise in supporting individuals and organisations in the events and hospitality, arts, media, and creative sectors. Don’t be afraid of all the creative stuff if that’s not your world. You are welcome to make use of the way my brain works to get a fresh perspective on what is happening in your own.

Not sure? My great grandmother used to say, ‘everyone has a talent whether that’s blowing a trumpet or laying the perfect table’ and I totally agree. If your talent is for spreadsheets, fitting cookers or mending cars that’s all good. If I am honest, I love a good spreadsheet. I will be interested and curious to know more about you and your teams, and how I can help whatever your background.

What you will find is a friendly, kind and encouraging person who enjoys helping other people work things out and do their best.

I can work with you on a one-off short term basis, or you can bring me on board as a travelling companion for you, your business and your staff.

Five reasons why you should partner with a coach

There are many benefits of coaching within a business, from improving relationships between staff…

I met Paul Abbott a while ago at a networking breakfast. I immediately warmed to him. I found him easy to talk to and interesting to listen to. After the event I booked a series of coaching sessions with him. At the time my business was stuck in a bit of a rut, and had been for years. The old cliche of “always working in the business and not on it” certainly applied to me. I wanted to grow my business and develop my full potential. I didn’t want to just settle for being ridiculously busy doing lots of lower paid jobs. I needed more balance. Paul’s coaching has truly inspired me. He listens so well and has some great ideas about exactly what I need to do to get where I want to be. I find his coaching sessions exciting and motivational, and I feel like he really believes in me and actually cares. Paul is professional, yet down to earth. Easy to talk to and has some great ideas and strategies. His knowledge and experience, as well as his enthusiasm and understanding are second to none. I can highly recommend him if you want to take your business to the next level yet are unsure how to do so.
